I read “1984” as “1941” and was ready to not only be shocked that “1941” was part of the Criterion Collection, but that someone would choose it.

Has Criterion ever rescinded a movie of their honor?

They've definitely bought the rights to a few movies and never released them...they ended up selling the rights or let them expire back to the rights holder...

And I think quite a few movies went out of print for various reasons.

I'm a poor but my friend and I years ago saw night of the living dead in it's original form in theaters with George Romero in the audience and that was the first time I ever saw it and

It was amazing. Like, the perfect blend of horror and social commentary. I was shocked by the ending.

Night of the Living Dead is so good, that ending had me shook.

Flash sale pick-ups: Buck and the Preacher, Frances Ha, and two Jules Dessin blind buys, The Naked City and Rififi. I watched Brute Force earlier this year and LOVED it so I figured I would roll the dice on two of his best known films.

Is Barnes and Noble doing another 50% off sale before the end of the year? I thought they usually do one before the holidays but maybe I made that up.
