I always remember that Zoë had a huge wedding to her first husband but then she filed for a divorce after only a year of being married. She had said a little while ago she had already started planning the wedding to Channing, but at least this time they realized it wasn’t going to work out before they went through with it.

ITA - it's so much easier to break up than to go through a divorce (legally, financially, etc., not necessarily emotionally) so better for them to realize it now and end things now than after getting married.

Many moons ago, I learned in my intro to psych class that the longest your body and brain can produce the "I'm soooooo in love" chemicals is about 36 months so my psych professor said that people should not get married until they've been dating for at least three years. Now as an adult who has seen people's entire relationship (courtship, engagement, marriage, and divorce) occur in timeframes shorter than three years, I feel like that's a pretty good idea to wait until that honeymoon phase ends to see if you actually like each other once all the hormones wear off.
