Ughhh I’m sorry your friend did that. I remember once I walked to the store on a really hot day wearing shorts and got really gross cat calls from passing cars. I came home and told my dad and he said “well you’re wearing short shorts” I said so what it’s hot, that doesn’t make it ok!!! And he paused and said “you’re right”

I went a little nuts on this dude behind me on a train to Nice who kept running his finger up the back of my neck, and my father told me off because I 'should have just ignored it' instead of making a scene and putting myself in a situation. I was 35 at the time and so tired.

He thought I just should have moved seats without making a big deal, and that I didn't know how they might have reacted. I've had enough experience with stupid asshole men over the years that I felt pretty confident that this dude and his friends were normal dickheads who don't respect women as opposed to dudes who would stab me on a train, but it's fine, whatever, god forbid I try to stand up for myself, Dad.
