Anyway, she was turned with her back to the paps who kept going in on her, I understand why he’d pull her away from all that

And if you look closely, he wasn't even pulling her. He slipped his hand in hers and led her away from the mob because, lbr, she was probably blinded from all that flash and can't see anything. It doesn't look like there's any tension in the hand he was holding her with despite him just having pushed that paparazzi aside.

mte from his perspective she practically got swallowed up, even if I was handling things ok I would expect my partner to make me a clear path for me to exit and Tom did that, any perspective other than “people should not have circled and closed in on her” is irrelevant here.
