I read so much as a child I couldn't tell you my favorite. I had a few favorite series, though.
Taffy Sinclair/The Fabulous Five series created by Betsy Haynes
The Gymnasts series by Elizabeth Levy
Grimm's Fairy Tales, by the Brothers Grimm
specific books:
The Red Woollen Blanket by Bob Graham
I was a blanket kid. If you had a blanket, pause and watch this.

Ugh I’m so happy he continues to receive his flowers, I love Levar 😭❤️

Jenny and the Cat Club was a book I really loved in elementary but couldn’t remember for the longest time. It was about a black cat with a red scarf and her adventures, I remember it being one of those old books from the 50s-60s or something.

Also obsessed with any spooky middle grade stories, Wait Till Helen Comes is one of my favorites.

I recently read Wait Till Helen Comes for the first time (as a 38 yr old woman) and dang! That shit was so good!

My favorite book was "The Secret Garden", to where I owned multiple copies of it. But the books that I probably checked out of the library the most were "The Doll Hospital" and "The Silent Storm". I own both now as an adult, but haven't re-read them partly in fear of them not holding up to my memory of them. I recently re-read "The Indian in the Cupboard" and it did not hold up so well.

I loved Mandy which I always thought was The Secret Garden but it is not!

I used to love those books. I wanted my stuff to have wonderful adventures...except I never had it happen myself sadly

aww yay glad someone else remembers them! I remember being blown away learning that people in Winnipeg have to plug their cars in because it's so cold there lmao. I learned that from these books. they were fun, almost makes me want to look for them in the library
