Don't get why she chose Kurt Cobain as her example, but she's 100% correct. GPS is magical ! Our parents had to use like maps and other people to find things. I drive a lot for my job and it has made life 100% better.

guess im elderly cause I used maps and later printed out map + directions off mapquest. GPS machines for cars were very expensive when they started gaining popularity in the 2000s

Also, I learned the hard way that if you take your circa 2006 garmin with you to Canada without downloading the Canadian maps first, you’re going to have a bad time figuring out to get home out of Vancouver’s Koreatown

Tangentially related, but if your Garmin is in french and you don't change it to English when going to Florida, you are gonna have a Bad Time.

I have never heard a robot voice butcher the most simple names (I'm talking like Bob MacDonald) in such a way.

Maybe she and Kurt used to hang out a bunch and he was habitually late because he had trouble with directions?

Look, I am with her! She maybe was a little more specific than she needed to be, but GPS is fantastic. And like, I already know there's gonna be a lazy way to do laundry after I die and I am mad about it!

lmaooo yes all I could think was same queen 100% of my car accidents before I was 20 were because I cannot understand directions and was a horrible teenage distracted driver just because I couldn’t figure out where I was b/c google maps wasn’t everywhere yet. maybe I would’ve learned directional literacy years and years later but who knows how many insurance companies I would have terrorized on the way
