so much pain and heartbreak.
I was feeling this so intensely but the yellow Nikes part broke me.

I almost bought the memoir today but I don't think I could actually read this, remember your recaps and how heavy these chapters are.

my mum once had to tell one of her best friends that her son had been found dead (drug overdose was the official line but they all suspected he'd done it on purpose) and she still says it was one of the worst moments of her life - i can't imagine what it must have been like for Riley, still processing it herself and having to be the one to deliver the news to her parents. the amount of trauma in this family, lord...how Riley has come through it all as sane and level headed as she seems to be, i will never know.

i started crying during this chapter and didnt stop til the end of the book. Im so glad Lisa stayed sober after this. It must have been so hard. I cant imagine telling your parents their son has died. Funny that Riley's thought about Lisa was the same as mine when I heard. That Lisa wouldnt survive this.
