On a recent episode of the Every Single Album podcast (timestamp 15:06), co-host and former Ticketmaster CEO Nathan Hubbard brought up Chappell Roan firing her manager, Nick Bobetsky.

"Chappell Roan just fired her manager at Austin City Limits, the festival, yesterday [the episode recorded October 14]. It was like Hunger Games. All these managers flew in to try to see her. She didn't see anybody, by the way. But like, that's an industry open secret, and everybody's sort of trying to position themselves to climb up the ladder and try to work with her."

In July, Chappell Roan and Daniel Nigro started work on the follow-up to her debut. One “fun, up-tempo country song” includes “a fiddle. I’ll say that much. It’s a new version of Chappell,” Nigro said. https://t.co/w0VY60Djab

Chappell's producer Dan Nigro spoke about her next album to the New York Times, who wrote a profile on him (he also produces for Olivia Rodrigo).

He revealed that he and Chappell started working on her follow-up to Midwest Princess in July. "I can talk about it because she's talked about it." He teased about a "fun, up-tempo country song" that will include "a fiddle. I'll say that much. It's a new version of Chappell."

They have five new tracks, including "The Subway" which Roan has been performing in concert. He also mentioned "a couple of ballands and a mid-tempo rock song."
