It grew on me by the end of s1. But I like Jesse and want to support his cheesy acting choices. Why shouldn't he lead a stupid impractical show? (I don't think that anyone should. Not the point here!) I mean Zachary Quinto's show is so bad I couldn't get through the pilot. I'd rather watch Jesse!
