Amy Adams guesses lines from 'Arrival', 'Man of Steel', working with Tom Ford on 'Nocturnal Animals' and talks how she got into acting

lmao I enjoyed Noctural Animals (not as much as A Single Man) and I think Tom Ford is surprisingly gifted for a fashion designer-turned-director (who then retired from directing reeeeal fast) but uh I couldn't tell you much about that movie reflecting back on it LMAO.
I love NA too but only the "real" section of the movie. The book part I find way too upsetting. I've seen it several times and I always fast forward those scenes. Also, Laura Linney kinda steals the movie in one scene. I love their conversation in the restaurant, I'd watch a movie with just those two talking.
I had to stop reading the book because I hated the author ex-husband so much for writing that lol. It also tickled me that they changed the lead character's occupation from being a teacher to an art gallery owner.
Arrival was such a beautiful movie. I only saw it last year but I am belatedly outraged like everyone else that she didn't even get nominated for an Oscar.
It was so good. I saw it when AMC did their Oscar preview or whatever it was called and I think it should have won the Best Picture. It is so haunting, and a fascinating story, and then after you’ve finished the movie and you think back on all you saw and how perspective changed knowing what you know now….
It hits me even harder now with a baby. Perhaps because I sometimes have some anxiety and fear about what the future might bring. I understand the choices she made even more acutely, and can more easily out myself in her place, because I would have done the same thing.

I am overdue for an Arrival rewatch.
Not sure what my fave role of hers is - I like her in everything! - but she's very understated and fantastic in The Master.
Excited to see Nightbitch with an Amy Q&A on Friday!
