Part of what makes the original work is the cast. Trying to franchise that doesn't really work well.

This show really came out of nowhere for me. One day all of a sudden all my online friends were talking about the gay firefighter and buddie and I didn't realize it was from this random procedural.

Can I get some of the Lone Star cast in the new one. I will be into this depending on the cast and location. They better keep casting as diverse as OG and Lone Star. If not, I don't want it.

I’ll be watching it. the thing that surprised me most about 911 is just how fast I fell in love with those characters? pretty much immediately and then in s2 it just developed even more and it’s crazy that I love every single couple? hopefully they’re able to replicate that in this one. I wouldn’t be surprised if they brought in someone from Lone Star to tee it up either (Gina Torres) just did a voice cameo for 911 OG so…

For me, I think it hit at the right time. I had been over procedural for awhile and really embracing limited run shows or shorter seasons. But then the time between seasons was getting ridiculously longer and longer and the prestige shows weren’t holding up. A coworker was talking about 9-1-1 and it sounded so silly and fun and totally unserious. And the cast is just so great together! Even if they aren’t best friends in real life (which is fine coworkers do not need to be best friends outside of work!!), they seem like they all at least like each other!
