FKA twigs released a music video for her latest single, "Perfect Stranger" from her upcoming EUSEXUA album. It features cameos from Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, *not* boygenius) and Yves Tumor (omg are we getting a collab???).

This was a fun video! I love the song, though not quite as much as the first single. She's always wearing the ugliest outfits and looking incredible anyway lol

i recognized yves tumor and searched for an article confirming it was them and that's how i found out phoebe was in. she's pretty well disguised here, ha.

there's an english white woman called phoebe waller-bridge who is a tv show writer/creator/showrunner. her most popular work is the show "fleabag".

there's an american white woman called phoebe bridgers who is an indie musician, acoustic guitar sad girl music singer/songwriter. she's both a solo artist and has a band with other indie acoustic sad girl singer/songwriters called "boygenius".

on account of their similar names, people often confuse the two.

i love this era of her music and the visuals are next level. it's like the lovechild of madonna and bjork, but with her own spin to it.

phoebe waller-bridge looks great--i never would have known that was her.

i do wonder about the scene where twigs is in a green suit and on all fours as a table. what is she saying about that?

i took this video as, like, the fantasy of ~potential futures a random one-night stand (the "perfect stranger") can provide. she's playing with a lot of fetish imagery in this video and this album cycle (which i'm living for, totally agree with you that the visuals this era are SO GOOD), and i think human furniture is a subtype there.

(obviously there could be more to it - why did she choose these scenes, specifically? - as twigs has shown herself to be very deliberate with her choices, but i haven't looked into it.)

The imagery is very A Clockwork Orange's Korova Milk Bar. It was a future where women are seen as objects, and that works with the fetishy undertones of this video.
