JENNIE stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform her new single “Mantra” on the show’s outdoor stage. The performance marked the Blackpink singer’s U.S. television debut.
She's still a mediocre dancer lol....but this is the most locked in she's been on stage since Blackpinks first coachella performance...like 5 years ago. So that's something at least!
I've always found Jennie very inconsistent performance-wise. I've seen her locked in and her stage presence can be pretty top tier imo, but often she seems over it. I know people have called her "lazy" and that might be part of it, but to me it always seemed like whenever she/BP got lot of hate she took it personally and idk if lost confidence or motivation but I felt like I could tell if she was bothered irl by something cuz it could be night and day. (And yea the lackluster performances outnumber the good ones, but I think the potential is there).
She and BlackPink have always underwhelmed me. Just a lot of LVMH-funded smoke and mirrors, because I cannot name a single thing that is particularly compelling about them.

I wish there were a little more musical shows where artist could come perform, maybe a weekly or every two weeks.
I like the song, even if maybe I would have liked a little more variation, adding a verse? A dance break ?
