I also have never thought about having kids. Even when I was younger, the concept of settling down and having a family never crossed my mind. My family has never bugged me about it, but I noticed since I hit my 30s, the questions have been coming in and they still do sting even though I’m secure in my decisions. Just yesterday, I overheard my mom on the phone telling her friend that I didn’t want to get married and she was very dismissive, like I was missing out on something special. Yet she’s never confronted me about it in person lmao

My life isn’t perfect but I also don’t see how having a child/partner would improve it either. I think about how fortunate I am to be financially stable right now and able to travel whenever I want and all of that would go down the drain if I made that major change. It’s not a sacrifice I’m willing to make just to fit into societal norms.
