I've always felt very gross about white people doing this. If I'm going to make a dish from a different culture, I try to find one that's from someone from that culture, not some white girl with a blog.

Also, seeing white people comment like (insert name)-san/kun/chan is so kawaii!! And shit like that makes me cringe. And this is coming from a white woman who is finally living her pre-teen dream of learning Japanese. Maybe it's just me being too uptight or whatever, but it just feels weird.

May I present to you, Goop’s chicken and zucchini pho. This is the first time I’ve seen a pho recipe that replaces fish sauce with soy sauce, but I suppose since it’s both “Asian” sauces, they think it’s interchangeable.

The clip was SO infuriating to watch and I felt so defensive of Simu Lee for being talked down to when he had valid criticisms! I hope all the investors lose money and that stupid company fails.

my brain about exploded watching the clip on tik tok last night. im not shocked at the people colonizing boba, but how dismissive the other judges were kind of caught me off guard. i didnt necessarily expect them to sincerely listen to simu, but i thought maybe him being a celebrity would have them pretending to care for the optics, but nope. just straight up dismissive.
