These themes often feel like a waste of time since 80-85% of the attendees play it safe (boring) to avoid being mocked for looking weird. Hopefully at least some of the women lean into dandy (quaintrelle?) aesthetic.

that's bc the theme is for the museum's exhibition, is not meant to be a dress code

for the gala attendees are expected to wear something that is "inspired" by that year's theme

that expectation comes from social media lol no one at the event gaf, and it was only last year that they finally implemented a theme to the dress code

hm, this is the most curious i've been to see a costume institute exhibit since the punk one.

in retrospect, i should've gone to heavenly bodies and camp, but just couldn't get motivated to go see them. i would do anything to go back in time and see savage beauty, though.
