I don't think Milton is supposed to hit Miami. I think it's mostly hitting the Tampa Bay and surrounding areas.

Matthew 6:1

OMG Jesus, clock her!!!!

5 million reasons is not enough to stop my hate, be for real.

That's my impression as well. Presumably they got her permission first but I doubt that she donated with instructions to publicize it. Hopefully this mobilizes the Swifties to do some fundraising of their own. They're incredibly effective at it when they get organized.

She quietly donates to charities all the time and never makes a statement about anything. The organizations do.

Good for her! This is amazing and every little bit helps. It pissed me off when I saw in some comment sections (not here) that her 5 million was like 300 compared to regular people money~ and how she didn't give enough. JFC, how much did you donate? It sure as hell wasn't 5 million!

probably wasn't $300 either

Probably was 0. I've donated water, food and a little bit of money. I wish I had all the money in the world to give, I know the little bit I did helps though!

even then, $300 in regular people money IS a lot? it’s fun to criticize her when valid but bffr people lol

That's really nice of her. I hope the storm isn't as bad as people are saying it will be. I'm pretty sure it was the mayor of Tampa I saw on CNN saying if you don't evacuate you'll die.

May everyone keep safe and those who were able to evacuate did so already. Winds are being felt already and I know Broward had tornadoes touch down this afternoon.

In Miami Dade things seem to be okay so I'm still expected to work tomorrow. If the train doesn't work then I won't go in.

Milton is powering down to a cat 3 so while it's still a major hurricane it's not a cat 5 anymore. And it should power down to a cat 1 once it hits land.

We will get through this as always.
