Kjersti Flaa, the journalist who posted that viral interview of Blake Lively insulting her "little bump," posted another interview of Anne Hathaway. Flaa claims that Anne "might be her worst interview ever." In the clip, Flaa, who is interviewing Hathaway in 2012 for Les Miserables, asks Hathaway if she would answer the ( Read more... )

it’s interesting how much popular opinion has shifted on Hathaway. If this was released at the time she would’ve been torn to shreds. people disliked how earnest she was then. I can see why her and Jeremy Strong are friends

eta: this video really sums up how interviewers sometimes tend to centre themselves in the interview in the age of social media etc. like - you did the same thing to several subjects and got different responses. that reveals something of the character of the people you are interviewing. it shouldn’t be about trying to get them all to react the same way and you consider an interview bad if they don’t. also, she was perfectly cordial but firm in her answer. calling that ‘rude’ is a stretch.

The thing I hate most about TikTok is that people go viral for one thing and 99% of them aren’t creative enough to come up with anything else so they just try to recreate the thing they went viral for in the first place over and over again.

Does this journalist have a different career now?

No, cause apparently Anne's people reached out to her and Anne apologized and explained what was going on that day to result in that interview being that way and then invited the reporter to interview her for her next movie.

Regardless, that's wild to me that she's posting stuff like this if she still interviews celebrities. The Blake Lively thing, I get, but not this, bc I'd think it'd make people avoid her for fear of pissing her off and ending up in one of these videos.

And the Blake Lively thing I think blew up completely separate of her. I think people found it during the whole It Ends With Us debacle, then she came out and made a video talking about it. Now she's just releasing this all herself.

No, we like her now, she wasn't being rude. She sounded over it, but saying "no" in response to a question isn't rude.

I agree. I don’t like the idea that a celeb saying no to what basically boils down to dancing monkey request is being rude, even if they don’t decline it in the most gracious way.

but saying "no" in response to a question isn't rude.

It's wild how we are very much conditioned to think it is. People get so taken aback by a clear 'no' that you can see they're expecting some sort of justification to make the answer more ~palatable - and I hate myself every time I give in and add a little something to soothe their sensitive feelings, especially at work.

It’s October 2024, let’s let no be a full sentence and move the fuck on without getting our feelings hurt.

Press junkets are soul sucking enough, but now you want her to answer questions in song?

Bitch, she ain't the cast of Glee.

Seriously. They sit there all day answering the same questions over and over.

She’s clearly trying to change it up for this reason. The movie had this exact theme lol. Anne was having a bad day, she admitted it and it shows. Y’all acting like you don’t know a snarky response when you see it.

Apparently the interviewer did the same thing (singing the question) with the rest of the cast and they went with it.
