Not this time. This $300 million movie is bombing, and Lady Gaga likely won’t get offered big starring roles anymore.I doubt she wants to bring more focus to this.

i fell asleep halfway through. It was just very boring. I enjoyed Lady Gaga but she wasn't used a lot. I wanted more of the folie a deux and instead its just Arthur getting beat up for the vast majority of the film.

I had only seen Joker last week so the fact the sequel was a musical made sense since he's always in his head and dancing.

Unpopular opinion but Lady Gaga seems like the most affected and disingenuous artist out there. Sure, she can sing and is undeniably talented but the whole persona and artistry feels completely manufactured and insincere. Like, a theater kid looked up how to be "artsy and edgy" and then ran with it. So for her to be cast in this actually seems pretty on the nose.

That said, with Joaquin's latest antics, and Todd Phillips being way overrated...I'm kind of gleeful it's turning out to be a critical and commercial flop.

Haha this is interesting because while she does say a lot of bs during promo to sound deep, I can still kinda feel that she genuinely loves what she does and experimenting with music, acting and fashion. I remember watching some interview of hers where she was talking about her looks for example and she knew the names of everyone that helped her with all of them and seemed genuinely excited about each. Usually she comes across tryhard but in an endearing way to me 🤣

This is exactly how I feel about her. Her enthusiasm is endearing but also a lot

i agree, i used to be a hater bc as a pop lover with a lot of anti-pop friends at the time i found the whole Smart Person’s Pop Star thing grating but over the years i’ve rly softened on her even tho i don’t usually love her music… i think she’s affected but in a sincere way lol
