this one really hurts. I've been telling the world how he's the greatest country singer of his time and it's a shame his exclusivity contracts have deprived generations of his music

not to mention, I know multiple people who had great personal encounters and experiences with him

trust no man :(

this is me too. He and I are from the same town and I even wrote a book report on him in elem school cause naturally we had a Garth brooks life story children’s book at the library lmao. I’ve never met anyone who had a bad story with him (Toby keith on the other hand…) and I just honestly thought he was such a great guy ontop of being one of the greats. Absolutely devastated 😔 but I hope she gets justice

This is me with Neil Gaiman (down to the positive personal experiences) so I feel you, sis. It hurts and it sucks.

This has been a year of finding out faves are actually shitty people.

*sigh*

Gross at him being the anonymous “celebrity plaintiff” trying to block her lawsuit from being made public. He already pivoted to using the legal system to silence and intimidate her before anyone else knew of the allegations. Trash. I hope she’ll be okay.

If she was lying and trying to extort him, he would have gone to the police with receipts. Not put out some preemptive secret lawsuit in an attempt to look innocent.

Dump his ass Trisha.

I feel like he must have known it was going to break yesterday because it coincided with loving press coverage of him and Trisha building Habitat For Humanity houses for Jimmy Carter's birthday

Interesting how the media hasn't focused on this as much as they have with Diddy.

Men continue to be trash.

The Diddy case (like Epstein & Weinstein) received more attention because of all of the celebrities possibly attached to it. Either as victims (as in Weinstein's case) or perpetrators (Epstein).A

And even when it was "just" Cassie sueing him, it put a renewed spotlight on all of the stories, rumors and allegations that had been made about Diddy since the 90s. A sense of "finally" and "this is just the tip of the iceberg".

I have never heard anything like this about Garth Brooks. It's a massive shock / disappointment.

And then of course, he is white, probably well-connected and at this point, it's still a he said, she said.

For the record, I believe her.

Eh, those cases are vastly different, but I agree that Garth is getting a kinder media spin.

When the news broke, I thought it would've been everywhere. I just saw people reacting on Twitter and that was it.
