'Scream VII' Lands February 2026 Release Date

Following a lot of behind-the-scenes drama, rewrites, and overhauls, Scream VII has a release date: February 27, 2026.

Neve Campbell, who's reprising her role as Sidney Prescott in the sequel, and director Kevin Williamson announced the news on Tuesday.

They did such a good job infusing Melissa and Jenna into the franchise that having Neve back (which is amazing) strangely doesn't even feel as exciting.

scream is my fav movie franchise but i haven't paid to see the last no - i didn't warm to the new characters besides mindy, but that's not why - and i won't pay for this.

under different circumstances, i would have been here for a shift back to sidney and it could have been cool to keep both stories alive and focus on either narrative at different times if they wanted, while still keeping the franchise's excellent continuity but alas. still holding out hope the franchise gets sold to a not as evil company but as much as i love sidney and prefer her/her narrative over the newbies any day of the week, that's just tainted now anyway

I was just thinking the other day (I saw Neve in a promo for some show) how after everything that happened regarding Palestine bts, she just slinked back at whatever number they gave her without caring how it would look in the midst of all the controversy. I don’t have any evidence of her being zio, but that comes damn close to it. Smh.

I think the simplest answer is just good old fashioned American-as-apple-pie greed. The studio finally offered her a number she was good with and the extremely fucked-up circumstances that led to them doing that just do not matter to her.

The filming start date keeps getting pushed back, and Courteney Cox even said she hasn't signed on yet b/c she hasn't seen a completed script so I think it's still being re-written. And Courteney is usually the first one to sign on to Scream sequels.
