i didn't like the finale :( The episode that centered solely on her night with her ex was wasted. why would i care about them when he's 5 minutes away from being married? and they used every romantic cliche, and that made it even more irritable for me. it didn't work with Rachel, it wouldn't work with Mel. i was so excited about the series at first, but there wasn't any growth in character? She took a flight/a holiday and that's it? Good for her, but was the story worth telling in eight (!) parts?
So far I've only watched through ep 3 so I don't have the full story but I was really disappointed by the show. I expected to like it so much and then I just didn't. I don't really feel like any of the characters are likable. I don't like her friend who ditched her on her BIRTHDAY to hook up with a guy he just met. I don't like her ex who is flirting with her while he's getting MARRIED and they started dating when he was her boss?? I remember also feeling like she was way too reactive to her brother when he picked her up from the hospital.
idk i can see how maybe the point is that they're unlikable and that's why it's called "how to die alone" but it's not funny enough for me to put up with not liking anybody.
As someone who just spent a year in her Slut Era, even I wouldn't skip a friend's birthday for a hookup.
I came into this post to see if this was worth watching because I genuinely didn't even realize it had started yet, but you and I have similar taste and if you're not digging it I know that I won't either
he also knew he was the only one she had plans with for her birthday, and then she ended up in the hospital and he didn't answer her call!! and then she forgave him immediately!!
And he wasn't just a casual friend skipping a huge group dinner/party/other gathering. He's supposed to be her best friend and he ditched their one on one plans on her birthday to hook up with a guy who he knows is in the airport all the time!
That was a huge red flag for me, so I wasn't surprised when his selfish ass later asked her not to do the training program because of his daddy issues. The guy with a trust fund asked his BFF not to do something that would get her a pay bump.
at first i thought this was going to be super relatable cause she supposed to be a fat black woman that's also a huge loser BUT i mean girl has a job and friends and a hot ass ex, sooooo yeah i can't relate
