I mean, I say fuck the US a whole lot and that comes more from a place of wanting this country to be better, so I definitely get where he’s coming from.

I ultimately do think that a lot of the discord we’ve been having around politics is coming from the same place of not wanting to head towards fascism and for the US to get better. We just have different opinions on what will or won’t work to get us there.

wow what a beautiful statement from him regarding the strange grief of seeing a genocide happen in front of you and despite all your efforts (i've done some marches, donated money for esims, boycotted companies, etc) the helplessness you feel about the situation at the end of the day

He articulated the despair I feel on a daily basis very well. I can't figure out why Biden and Harris choose to participate in the genocide of the Palestinian people and allow Netanyahu to spit in their faces constantly.

Honestly a significant portion of America’s patriotism is born out of indoctrination and HOO-RAH GET SOME MARINES energy. He said nothing wrong, but I am 100% not surprised there was backlash over there.
