That felt like a lot of words to say nothing. Or maybe I just have a hard time finding forgiveness for 'both sides' idiots like her when my, and millions of others, basic human rights are on the line. I don't expect or need an actual endorsement. Just don't spread the idiotic false equivalency that both sides are the same when, for all the failings of the democratic party, that couldn't be further from the fucking truth.

We are absolutely not arguing for the same thing. The next six weeks is when voters have the biggest opportunity to affect platform changes as Kamala vies for people's votes. You apparently want to stifle any criticism of her prior to the election so she can continue to ignore an issue that people have been in the streets protesting for almost a year.

Affect what platform? What do you think this is going to do aside from hurt her chances of winning against a literal hopeful dictator? Please tell me, because what you seem to be asking for is either 1.) a savior candidate that this country with a very long history of a bipartisan government will not back in 6 weeks (and will only take votes from Harris, therefore ensuring a Trump victory), or 2.) for her to ensure a ceasefire before Nov. 5 or be OK with the election going to Trump. Who isn’t calling for a ceasefire at all and has continually mocked Harris for doing so and bashed her for “disrespecting” Netanyahu, mind you ( ... )

Girl the only thing that is wrong and misguided and sad and tbh selfish is you out here endorsing a candidate that thinks slaughtering innocent men, women and children is more important than American democracy.

Claiming you want a landscape where we can freely pressure our politicians to do the right thing while shouting down people who are doing just that.

Like I’ve said throughout these comments, for me this is a when and how convo versus what and if, and apparently that is not getting through or good enough. Because the other option for THIS election is even worse. And unless someone can see that I don’t know how to have a progressive discourse, and clearly you do not so…we can go ahead to agree to disagree

There's no progressive discourse on genocide. Sorry people aren't buying what you're selling.

There is progress on the other end in the shape of a government that still allows us to vote, which leads to being able to actively still fight against genocide, but whatever you have to tell yourself.

She won't even meet with members of the Uncommitted Movement who are desperate to endorse her. Who's fault is that? Ours? Vote for her; it's your choice. You claim to want a platform and then are desperate to shut people up who disagree with her policies. Make it make sense.

No one is condemning you; we're condemning Kamala. And you're up our asses with "Now is not the time." What do you want, a cookie?

Babe this entire post all I have said is what theactualworst above has said - at worst, Harris will be the same as Trump on this (very serious) issue, who has the gigantic potential to be worse. Here is just one of MANY examples why, not even counting his message to Christians about never have to vote again or his BFF relationship with multiple dictators:
https://www.reuters.com/world/netanyahu-meet-trump-talks-seeking-ease-tensions-2024-07-26/

You continually accusing people asking for support for Harris of not giving a shit about genocide is extremely gross. Especially since many of us doing that (especially the ones in the post) are doing it BECAUSE we care, and are realistic about what it takes to end it.

Like I said in another comment: This is a when and how argument, not an if/what argument. And if you still think otherwise I really don't know what to say anymore.

It's mindboggling.

Like do people doing this really not understand there are two choices in this election? And Trump literally slammed Harris for skipping out on the U.S. congressional meeting with Netanyahu, like y'all think he is going to be BETTER?

I'm answering my own question but, they don't. Hope if Trump wins because of y'all's bullshit your laurels are enough to get you basic healthcare and save what little is left of our democracy I guess

is it a lack of comprehension that equates criticism of kamala and the democratic party with ‘you think trump is better/you’re voting for trump’. like either y’all have critical thinking skills or you don’t… what people are trying to grapple with is how utterly fucked america is and the unimaginable amount of harm its government has and continues to do regardless of the party in power. and if you accept that fact then it would follow that something must change.

like you either want to SAVE YOUR FUCKING LIFE or you simply want to be comfortable while dying. just be honest.

People choose presidential elections to suddenly care about these issues though, and magically want the trickle-down effect to happen from the executive branch if they shake it enough? The same people who preach about the trickle-down effect being bullshit when it comes to tax breaks on the wealthy? OK!

Also re: your last sentence on comfort vs. dying, tell that to Amber Thurman's child:

This user doesn’t know what they want. I acknowledged that America is a demon country that has done and continues to do terrible things but I still gotta vote for my best option and they said I was lazy.

I can’t wave a wand and make America not what it is but I can protect abortion and lgbtq people with my vote. I can (hopefully) make life better for poor and underprivileged people. That’s the power I have right now so that’s what I'm gonna do.
