I am so fucking disgusted at this situation. I made the mistake of clicking and responding to a few of the news articles posted by various pages on Facebook and now it's all I see. The comments people are making are absolutely disgusting. Saying they don't owe his mom anything, blah blah blah, claiming she is a liar. Fuck them. Fuck everyone who listens to LP with Emily Armstrong involved. Scientology is a dangerous cult and this is unacceptable. I know there's a lot of criticism of his son Jamie, since he is clearly mentally unwell, but the comments about him are disgusting too - saying they thought he would get the lead singer position.

LP was one of my favorite bands. Those lyrics fucking spoke to me at a core level. They made me feel seen. Fuck a Scientologist for even thinking they can sing those songs and speak those lyrics. FUCK YOU AND FUCK MIKE SHINODA. He should have heard the criticisms and said you know what, you're right.

I don't even care that they have a new singer and want to keep producing music as LP - that is OK.

that's where i'm at. i love LP and i was so on board with them getting a frontwoman and doing new stuff. but out of all the ppl who could've done it, they chose HER? it's just spitting on the memory of chester, i can't believe how callous one would have to be. it's not like they're hurting for money.

I haven't listened to LP in years but they were such a solace for me from their Hybrid all the way through Minutes to Midnight. I can't even imagine how much pain this is bringing to Chester's loved ones; even as an ex-fan, this feels like he's dying all over again. There are some mistakes you can never come back from and this betrayal to Chester is certainly one of them.

Like everyone is saying here, no one get this riled up if they had gone forward with her under a new name. People would still be upset she gets to profit off of singing Chester's parts but it wouldn't have gotten this level of outrage from fans. What an insanely arrogant and short-sighted mistake to make.
