I thought this actually got off to a pretty strong start. Debra Jo’s comedic timing is unmatched: they’re all funny but she’s legitimately hilarious. Kathryn is excellent always and I just love her. I have so much love for Sasheer from her SNL days and Patti is an icon; I hadn’t seen Ali before to my recollection but all three were great in their (as yet ) limited screentime. Aubrey and Joe both have SUCH good chemistry with Kathryn and I honestly think Joe is killing it thus far. Need Aubrey back in episode 3. It’s not a perfect show but I’m glad it’s certified fresh on RT, I think it deserves that

For this being Joe's basically third professional acting gig (Heartstopper and Sweeney Todd on Broadway) he's really impressive. Hope to get to hear him sing more as his voice is just lovely.

Yeah, I didn’t see him in Sweeney Todd but the clips I’ve heard and seen were gorgeous. Linking one below. It’s so funny that (minus Patti and Kathryn, who they knew could sing) they basically lucked into it with everyone else as none of the cast had to sing for their auditions or knew there would be music.

Okay I loved it. LOVED IT.
But I didn't dislike the starts of any Marvel shows so far either, so I can't sing it praises too hard. For all we know, this might end up in a ryan murphy situation as well.
Having said that, Hahn is such a force. She's literally magnetic in this role, and they're giving her a lot to work with. Joe Locke surprised me. HS was his first ever acting role and... I was prepared to support a gay regardless, but he's really good too.

I really liked the Agnes of Westview bit too even if I never watched Mare. I'd watch a show like that tbh. Also liked the idea of the corpse being just a manifestation of the the darkhold, and not Wanda. I do feel like they are saving her for the finale though, how could they not.

Yeah, I knew Joe was actually a really good actor because I’d seen him in a play and he was excellent but HS (the way it’s written or directed anyway) does not let him show that off. I honestly still think for his experience level in HS he’s quite good but it’s not even close to the performance he turned in in Agatha. I thought maybe he was a great stage actor with screen potential but I also thought he was fantastic in this. And from the very few interviews I’ve seen (Kathryn hosting Jimmy Kimmel and one or two others) he and Kathryn adore one another offscreen. And I’m so endeared by friendships and mentorship’s like that, Jenna Ortega and Winona, Kathryn and Joe, that type of thing.

Given what we know is coming up in S3 from the comics (Vol 4 and 5) this should give a lot for Joe to seek his teeth into acting-wise; HS also has a new director as well so hopefully this is a recipe for another great season.

It looks like a fun ride! I haven't watched Wandavision yet though, so I don't know how much of this show I'll understand.

I'd watch Wandavision and Multiverse of Madness before this as they reference it frequently, but they do a fairly good job of giving context for those who haven't seen it I think

Wandavsion is genuinely amazing so I highly recommend you watch that first. You could also watch MOM or just wiki online what happens.

You can still enjoy it for sure. I haven't seen the prior releases either so I read a summary of the Wandavision season and, I am probably missing stuff, but I watched the first two episodes and it's not that confusing. I think it's definitely geared to be watchable for people who haven't seen the other shows, the dialogue spells out what you need to know.
