Marlon has been open about his own journey toward acceptance and how it was not easy for him but after a week he was like why is this even hard, like literally just love them? I appreciate him

Reruns of the Wayans Bros show are like comfort food to me. I still laugh so hard I cry sometimes when I watch. Sure, some of the humor is dated, but a lot of the themes are timeless, like trying to make it on your own as a young adult, how hard it is to switch career paths (Marlon becoming a ~serious actor~ on the show was meta as hell lol), and trying to find yourself and come out of your sibling’s shadow. His brother was SO FINE back then but he’s the fine one now 😍. I think I’ll put it on to fall asleep to for the millionth time lol.

Anyway, on a much less horny note, Marlon is a good person and a great dad. I’m so so glad his son has a father like him. And I’m glad he went on Shannon’s show to talk about this. If it changes only a few Black fathers’ minds, that’ll still be life changing.

I never have the right words for these kinds of things, but I will never ever comprehend how parents could hate, ignore or other negative actions towards their own children because they are gay etc. I'm not even a mom, but I can't imagine hating something I birthed simply because the decided to be slightly different.

sadly a lot of people have kids to heal some psychological injury. They'll do it to tell themselves a story, like 'I'm a good person because I'll have a kid who's going to turn out exactly like this' which obviously ignores that the kid will have their own agency and make their own decisions. And it means that whenever the child does make their own decisions, the parent takes it not just as a decision they disagree with but as an attack on their entire self-concept. It's fucking bananas

It's so sad that this still has to be said. People will love all manner of abusive, scamming, hateful offspring, but a trans kid is a bridge too far.

Marlon's a good egg and Elon can and will remain the most divorced man in America.
