Besides on an artistically Kanye was the more the interesting one cause at least I could see experimentation and interesting production whereas Taylor stays around the same radio-friendly safe playgrounds.

Shame he lost his way and ended up the way he is now but he had tracks. This is one of my favorite of the slowed and reverbed videos

ugh, having to defend kanye but: I hate that everyone clowned on 808s and Heartbreak so much at the time bc one, yeah yeah we know how he turned out in the end, but he was going through something nobody should have to go through - feeling responsible for his mother's death. It completely broke him and he never really recovered. And two, it's actually a really good album

(and this may be a spicy take, do not take it as a defense of anything he's said or done: for all the people who say 'mental illness doesn't make you do/say (x)!, I humbly suggest doing a real psych degree along with some studies in medicine, not just from ONTD University)
