Ive had a great time on Australian reddit reading the comment but I kinda feel bad, Felicity Ward seems like a good choice (from the little I know about Steve's character) & Edith Poor is kinda intriguing (Ive got no clue is she Kelly? Ive learnt most of what I know about the Office from Mindy Kaling posts) .

But this is way wayyyy too late, Im surprised we didnt do a version of the UK in like 2004.

Working remotely is my dream. I get so anxious going to work, being nice to people I don't care about but need to butter up or be seen as a rude witch. Spending my day in sweatpants? Hell yeah! Using my toilets, drinking my coffee, having my cats near me, sign me the fuck up for that.

I'd probably push that boss in front of a bus. I never got around that show no matter the version. It's just not funny for me. Love the accent though!

I truly don't understand why they did this when we ALREADY HAVE IT and it's called Utopia.

It is definitely going to suffer from comparisons to that show. As someone who works in the public service, Utopia is so painfully real to me.

When she gets news that her branch will be shut down to work remotely, she goes into survival mode

aw, I hate her already <3

I absolute despise in-person work for jobs that can be done remotely. It's literally the ONE good thing that came from the pandemic yet needy, pathetic bosses want the power play of keeping their employees on a leash, even as it's been proven over and over that in-person work often makes people miserable and way less productive. I'm all for people who prefer the routine of going (can't relate but oh well), not for those who want to make it mandatory. Frankly, if you're against working remotely, I can only assume you have a miserable life at home or a mistress at work.

Signed,
A copywriter forced to waste 3 hours of her day in public transport
to come to this godawful building to do something I could do
perfectly (and silently) at home.

(YES I HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT IN-PERSON WORK - idek if that's how English speakers call it btw so if it's not i hope you can understand what I meant through context lol

Completely understand!

My work has to be in person, so I was on our campus during the entire height of the pandemic. Now they're bringing back the office workers and it sucks for us because there's not enough space/parking/now traffic is worse. We don't want solidarity with the office folks, let them work from home and give us some peace!

So much this! I'm a law librarian and work in a law firm. We started working remotely March 2020, did just fine - because most of our resources are online/digital, anyway - but then, earlier this year, our managing partner (law firm version of CEO) retired and the new guy tried to get us to come back in AT LEAST three days a week. Why?? What purpose does that serve? (Not to mention that they had gotten rid of the secondary office in the area and must is us no longer even had desks).

Our new Chief of our department helped us fight it, especially because he was going to have to go in five days a week, to "set the tone" or some shit. He lives around Atlanta and said there was no way he was going to do that.

So we won and they walked it back very quietly and we've been spared for now, but we still have to advertise our library jobs as "hybrid " 🙄
