To be fair, he won an Emmy for S3 (S4 just started a few weeks ago). Apple is absolute shit at promoting any show that isn't The Morning Show.

the biggest laugh of the episode this week for me was at river flipping the guys off, then immediately falling through the roof and head first into a tire. jack lowden really deserved that emmy nom lol

the writing win surprised me because i thought shogun had it locked up (and i was rooting for it), but it must have split the vote since it was nominated for two of its strongest episodes. i wasn't at all mad at them winning it instead though.

I stumbled on the Reddit sub, and like clockwork, people don't want Louisa and River to get together - they have siblings vibes. I love how black women and white men always have "siblings" vibes. But never black men and white women.

Plotwise, I think Louisa is still too traumatized from Min's death to want to be in a relationship with anyone right now and separately, River seems like he would be a shit boyfriend (I like him as a character but I don't think he would be a great romantic partner). I wouldn't mind if they hooked up, but I think Louisa needs some time to heal before she's emotionally ready to be with anyone. I don't recall the exact timeline but I think the first two (or three?) seasons took place back to back so it hasn't been that long since Min died (even though it's been almost two years for us as an audience).

I'm neither here nor there about it. I was thinking more about the internet's tropes surrounding white male characters and black female characters, especially since I just saw this with The Bear.
