One of these shows I feel like they were announced like 5 years ago, only to release like 6-8 episodes at the end.

Why is it taking so long nowadays? Ridiculous

SAG strike, Writers Guild strike delayed everything. We were warned at the time that the 2024 - 25 TV season would be screwed.

I feel like production values are crazy high compared to back in the day too. Gone are the 90s/00s where they’d churn out dozens of episodes on sound stages and dedicated sets, with practical FX. They’d just smash through takes quickly and move between scenes so fast. X-files, Stargate, Xena, Desperate Housewives, SATC, etc. all had pretty fast turnarounds.

Feels like so much is shot on location nowadays, or has a lot done in post with CGI which takes time. TV shows are more like mini movies now.
