I wonder about David's reaction to him being used in the abuse. :(

It's infuriating how long it has taken for this story to get more attention or generate any impact on his career. I guess there are a lot of projects going tied to his IP, so I see where the inertia is coming from...and I hate it.

I feel like this story got no attention??? I follow at least a zillion people on tumblr who are big fans of him and I have seen NOTHING on that site about it. I found out about it from a post on the Tori Amos subreddit of all places because she's been friends with him for ages. as far as I know she hasn't commented on it but given her past and being a co-founder of RAINN I can't imagine she's okay with it

Especially since Gaiman used his connection with her (Tori Amos) and to RAINN (through Amos) to get close to Claire (see episode 6 of the Tortoise Media podcast and Claire's standalone episode of Am I Broken: Survivor Stories, which came out before the Tortoise episode and was actually what brought her story to Paul and Rachel's attention). He literally said he could get her a job at RAINN because he knows Tori Amos.

I don't think it would be fair of me to expect Tori Amos (or David Tennant, or Fiona Shaw, or, God forbid, any of the other connections Gaiman used that we don't yet know about) to speak on this because it wasn't her wrong. But I am still curious what she thinks about all of this. I hope she's doing well.

Oh his tumblr stans have suddenly become enthusiasts of ~separating the art from the artist~ (whilst still actively supporting said artist) and going after anybody who even attempts to bring up the shit he's done because it makes them feel uwu sad.

lmao this comment juxtaposed with the one above it. whatisthetruth.gif

(tbh I have no idea what tumblr thinks, I have a grudge against tumblr for being the first site I couldn't fuckin understand how to use like some boomer, and I was still a teenager at the time)

Tumblr is probably in shambles over the decision to pause production and Gaiman's announcement that he's willing to step back, rather than the accusations themselves. People are literally working themselves into knots trying to avoid bringing the accusations up until (as an example) they're "covered by a reputable media outlet" and other such nonsense. But the show being affected is definitely sending parts of Tumblr into an absolute spiral.
