This is reminding me of the Jeffrey Jones/Beetlejuice Beetlejuice situation where he wasn't in the movie but his likeness was so you know he got paid for his likeness being used despite being a CONVICTED monster.

What exactly does "step back" mean? Is he going to remove himself completely and forego any money he would get from S3? Or is he just saying he will stay home while they film S3?
ETA: Nigel Lythgoe "took a step back" from the most recent season of So You Think You Can Dance due to allegations, but all it really meant was that he wasn't a judge this season so we didn't have to see his face. He was still a producer so he still made money from the show. In contrast, IIRC Roseanne completely left her show which included giving up her producer credit.

I admit, I am a big fan of the show, but with the guy who directed every episode on seasons 1/2 leaving (seemingly not on good terms with Gaiman) and season 2 being bogged down by that Maggie/Nina subplot... IDK, I hate that it ended on a cliffhanger. At least season 1, given that it was a miniseries at first, gave us a satisfying conclusion and not that cliffhanger, and since it's being adapted from unfinished/unreleased material, we can't go and find out what the intended conclusion was. Season 2 had a cowriter for every episode, the episodes were decent, just give him the reins and let him wrap it up and then move on from Gaiman.

but whatever i never intended to watch s3 (hated s2 save for the Bildad miniepisode) so unless it's a complete re-do that doesn't follow gaiman's notes i'm not gonna touch it
