Didn't we have an ONTD Original about these shows and how bad of an idea they were?

I'd be curious to see what's become of The Swan contestants. Plastic surgery had such "unique" results at the time and not everyone looked like a Kardashian.

I remember Lorrie Arias said she ended up with a bunch of mental health issues due to the show.

Joe Millionaire was oddly good. Evan was a doofus but a lot of the women were actually funny and weren’t taking it that seriously.

i just remember one woman (i think the one who won?) saying afterwards that the producers spliced together audio to make it sound like she was giving head… sucks for her but tbh good early lesson in media literacy for teen me

I remember that particular episode and thy must be good because you can't splice what's not there. The good sis was slurping and there were more noises involved. So either they used sound effects and staged it so it looked like she was doing that or she did it without realizing there were hot mikes in the bedroom and is trying to cover.

I love bashing The Swan lollll. What a disgusting show. Imitating the American Idol panel of judges, complete with some fuckhead playing the role of Simon Cowell, wailing over the hideousness of women who looked absolutely fine. Maybe they were all like that. I don't remember. It was just enraging.

the swan was fucking wild and it felt so normal back then. I genuinely think it’s a miracle my parents were able to build me such good self-esteem bc my generation was taught to despise themselves from a really early age. The size 0 era was absolutely deranged.
