“When you’re in it and you’re fighting so hard for No. 1, it can seem obnoxious [to people outside the industry], but that’s the only thing that matters,” Arbagey says. “They’re pulling out all the stops.”

Why? What does it matter anymore if you’re just going to create new digital versions? There’s zero flex to being number one for 6 months when Taylor is gaming the system by dropping the same album with a new cover and like a remix or whatever. It’s like having your daddy buy your way into a prestigious university, except it’s your label buying you a #1 spot.

When asked about this practice, another prominent manager said: “It’s ironic that the institution which is allowing the problem to exist is reaching out for a quote.” 😂😂😂 also L O L at them not reaching out to Taylor

Billboard is dragging their feet soooo badly with this it’s ridiculous. I get still wanting to allow some kinds of variants like deluxe or anniversary or even the remix editions but that’s not the shit people like Taylor are doing. I even don’t have as much of a problem with the vinyl colours as I do with this one additional pointless track or voice memo nonsense that’s going on now.
