I'm glad he's well enough to be considering this. I must admit when I don't hear about older celebrities, I often think they are nearing old age d**** (lol i don't know why i censored that, but i'm leaving it like that) and are currently in hospice or something.

i saw him talking about how they approached him to return for rings of power and it made me wonder if he was supposed to reveal that lol

I'm a little surprised because there were those behind the scenes stories from filming The Hobbit trilogy that described him as crying out of frustration on set.

Maybe, being on the set, he had a good understanding of what caused those situations and is willing to trust it would not be the same this time around? Folks are quick to blame PJ for all that is wrong with the Hobbit movies, but it’s probably more complicated than that.
