Ngl, I feel like the older I get, the more sensitive I become. I used to watch crime shows/documentaries without a second thought.

Either way, I won't be watching, and I don't trust Ryan Murphy. However, I hope he proves me wrong and delves into how horrible the parents are. The end of the trailer kinda hints at it so I hope it does.

Same. I used to listen to Criminally Listed and Unsolved Mysteries episodes on YouTube during the day but stopped for a period of time because it was getting to be too much. I was also shocked at how many UM episodes were about women who went missing or murdered.

I am okay with a true crime documentary but I'm not a fan of these sensationalized movies. It seems so disrespectful to victims and their families.

Especially since Ryan Murphy plays fast and loose with the facts (as he did with the Dhamer show)

The worst thing about researching this case is learning how genuinely fucked up and just monstrous some parents are.

Never gonna watch this but the vision of Nathan Lane as Dominick Dunne made me chuckle. I loved DD on the "Power, Privilege and Justice" series - something about his voice really drew me in. Same with Paul Winfield (RIP) on "City Confidential."

I got excited when I saw Nathan, I immediately knew my favorite high society gossip DD was being featured.

And props to Bill Kurtis luring me to sleep with American Justice reruns when I get insomnia.

I wonder how much of ONTD will complain about how exploitative this is but watch it anyway.

Probably not as much as the Dahmer one considering the victims were pretty much monsters.

The biggest thing from the Dahmer situation was family members of the victims being impersonated and such without any kind of respect. The family members for the Menendez victims pretty much confirmed the abuse allegations made against them. Can't really argue they're the same when one Dahmer victim was a child, and one Menendez victim was sexually assaulting children.

None of that makes Ryan Murphy telling this story any less exploitative and trashy. But whatever you need to tell yourself to justify giving it your attention 🤷🏻‍♀️

You seem fun.

I never even said I was going to watch it. I haven't watched any of his recent projects, nor the last seasons of his shows I actually watch, America Horror Story or American Horror Stories.

I was simply pointing out why, exploitive or not, the reactions will likely be different than those with Dahmer's. A man who killed a bunch of innocent POCs, including at least one CHILD. Exploitive or not, I hope this new series helps shine a spotlight on the sexual abuse, because I think more eyes need to be on that since it still gets buried for "they just wanted money".

This is a fucking gossip site. The bare minimum here is "exploitive". The fact that you expect people not to watch is funny.
