ONTD Original: 6 Endeavour Episodes to Get You Into Autumn

Sep 01, 2024 08:55

It may still be summer but mentally I've moved on to my favorite season, autumn. When this time of year comes around people often share tv shows which get them in the mood, like Gilmore Girls. Endeavour has become that show for me. It's not a cozy mystery or a gritty drama. I'd say it's somewhere inbetween but more than anything it's theatrical! ( Read more... )

I binged all this a couple of months ago! I watched it not really knowing anything about the Inspector Morse series, but I still really enjoyed it. I will say it did also kind of destroy me when I finished it and went and read the wiki for Inspector Morse. I just want him to be happy lol

It was a weirdly comforting watch tho. I loved the setting and the clothes, espesially when the show hits the late 60s/70s. So many amazing turtlenecks.

Omg same! That's why I wouldn't label it as a cozy mystery series. I was not at all emotionally prepared for how devastating it was, lol.

Isn't that funny? I think something about the length of the episodes, the production value, and it being character-driven makes it feel very engrossing. Like you're just hanging out in a lived universe for a while.

I was just thinking I could watch some Endeavour since I have access to it, but didn't know where to start. Perfectly curated list with perfect timing, op. <3

Thank you! <3

I would say ideally the Pilot is the perfect place to start because it sets the character arcs and everything up really well, and although it might feel slow at first the way it builds as it goes along is satisfying.

However, if you'd like to start with the ball rolling a bit then you can't go wrong with either Fugue or Nocturne imo! And then ofc you can go back to the beginning.

Great post! I've already watched Endeavour and the other Morse shows multiple times but reading this makes me feel like going back to Endeavour again some time, it's so sad that it's really like over over.

Glad you asked, OP! For me it's the fifth season of Buffy for nostalgia reasons. But I have been looking for another thing to watch in fall (and Gilmore Girls didn't age well enough for me).

It's only 1 season of 8 episodes.
Watch the whole thing in order or do what my sister did. She watched episode 6 first, and it helped her figure out the mystery (because she's an impatient one) and made it easier for her to watch.
