We are partnering with Annapurna to co-finance Control 2. We hope you're as excited about what this means for our creative output and ongoing independence as we are.

We are also happy to announce that Annapurna will work with us on expanding the Control and Alan Wake franchises… pic.twitter.com/5RqOtREhxw

Remedy Entertainment (makers of 'Alan Wake', 'Control', and 'Max Payne') has partnered with Annapurna to co-produce/finance 'Control 2' and potentially adapt 'Alan Wake' and/or 'Control' for TV and/or film. As 'Alan Wake' and 'Control' take place in the same universe with shared characters, these could be overlapping series/movies. AMC had previously (as in last year) announced plans to adapt Alan Wake as a TV series, but I'm gonna assume this option lapsed and allowed Annapurna to finance Control 2.
Megan Ellison, CEO/Founder of Annapurna and daughter of Trump mega-donor Larry Ellison, said, "The future of storytelling requires seamlessly integrating gaming, film, and television, and this partnership will allow us to explore new ways of bringing these narratives to life. By leveraging Remedy’s innovative narratives and immersive worlds, we can push the boundaries of how stories are told and experienced across mediums."

Interesting timing right when multiple Epic Games staffers, including someone directly connected to Alan Wake 2's publication via Epic Games (which Tim Sweeney seemed to denigrate in his interview about exclusive deals - it has not made Epic or Remedy any profit yet), jump ship to Annapurna... But also keep Matthew Porretta as Dr. Casper Darling please in any adaptations LMAO (even if he is also the voice of Alan Wake: Darling > Alan Wake lbr). Also, will any adaptations have song and dance numbers? ETA from the future: this post is mostly about Robin Hood: Men in Tights.
