Good for her. The woody comments were gross af. It reeks of ass kissing. I don't get people who love his films. I watched 1 or 2 because school forced me to and honestly, you can see he's weird about women because he writes them terribly. I went on a date with a guy who loved woody Allen and wanted me to watch the films. So there was no second date, among many other reason.
Anyway, D'Angelo did a video on Blake and it was great.
I think she thought she could become the Taylor Swift of movies. The whole package, I write, I direct, I act, I hand-pick every song on the playlist, I’m blonde, gorgeous gowns. Movie fans/critics are more discerning than music fans though, so even without shooting herself in the foot (repeatedly), I don’t think it was ever going to happen for her.

This is why it's hilarious if Taylor thinks she's going to waltz into the DGA with her vanity project feature film directorial debut and be awarded like it's the Grammys. And Film Twitter is fucking ruthless and cinephiles are the biggest snobs - her stans are going to have to work overtime to defend her.
I remember that period of time - it's wild that after everything that came out about Dylan Farrow, so many actors still chose to work with Woody.
I randomly keep thinking about what if Justin Baldoni had cast someone like Haley Lu Richardson or Meghann Fahy in the lead role in It Ends With Us, all of this would've been avoided and they would've done a better acting job in the role. The movie would've still been bad, but it likely would've still done well in the box office bc the source material was so popular, and those actresses could've gotten a little post-White Lotus boost in their careers.
Edit: I just did a quick google search and it actually looks like she’s more mature than Blake in terms of looks so I think the fans would have had an even bigger negative response to Meghann. I think she’s great though.

i feel like he was one of the biggest users of the manic pixie dream girl trope before it was even named.

Women who exist in service to a man's growth? Pretty much every movie of his.

I do enjoy seeing the consequences of a self-inflicted shot to the foot.

I think Blake tries very hard to come off as relatable and happy, and that doesn´t seem to be Meghann´s vibe at all
