People who spent $26K on a bottle champagne should be shamed and hang.
I don't care how rich you are, that’s just beyond gross.

That is insane. Even if you had money to throw away on such frivolity - paying that for a bottle of champagne is such an idiot thing to do. And also shame on a club even CHARGING such a price.

That’s more than many make in a year working full time. Absolutely disgusting.

Okay, I could MAYBE see some rich asshole dropping that kind of cash on like. A really good bottle of aged whiskey or something you could drink/toast to on several special occasions. But champagne??? That's insane

They offered, she said no, end of story. No one is in the wrong here. Exclusive places often have expensive and exclusive items that they only offer to top-tier clientele, and TBH, I'd rather have a venue offer me something beyond my paygrade than just assuming I'm a broke ass bitch. At the same time, it's fine that she turned it down.

But can we not debate on whether or not charging $26k for a bottle of champagne is ethical? lol

Of course it can be done legally and I would never ridicule the person who works at said club trying to make ends meet, but I think it’s fair to discuss said price lol

Yes, it's very fair to discuss price. But it's also fair to recognize that while certain things might be out of reach for you or I right now, these are things that are more than affordable for a certain segment of our population. I've always viewed such things as "I am not the target demographic for this" rather than get upset. At the same time, it's also fair to talk about the inequities of a system of haves and haves nots, and why some people can afford 26k chompers while someone else working two jobs still has to budget carefully for food?

agreed, and I'll add that at least they wanted to get paid bc it's wild to me that rich people get so much free shit lol i mean, we know why it happens but it's a sad irony that those who can afford a lot are the ones least expected to pay.
