i have a cousin who's a bit of a deadbeat dad and whose relationship with the woman he cheated on his ex-wife for is on-and-off, and whenever he and his gf are on his profile picture is of him and her and whenever he and his gf are off his profile picture is of him and his child he only remembers the existence of when they're broken up. it's so gross, most of my family stopped talking to him because of how he treated his ex-wife.

so this is a classic deadbeat dad move.

I feel like with so many deadbeats it's the opposite. They only remember the kid when it's time to impress their gf and they want to pretend they have a relationship with their kid.
