Now that the entire public opinion has turned on her after her failed attempt at pr, this sounds more like a pivot from HER team.

"actually they were both bad" is a lot kinder to Blake than "here's 20 years worth of interviews, fan interactions, personal history, and coworker testimonials proving Blake is a raging, narcistic monster, impossible to work with".
