julia has always handled herself really well. growing up as a girl in the 90s i will always have a nostalgic fondness for her, she was like my number one role model for the ~type of woman~ i wanted to be, but she's a huge dick lol
anyway this whole debacle had me watching fried green tomatoes for the millionth time and i'm not mad about it
While I think Blake's promo is atrocious, I don't think it's fair to compare these 2 films and the promo to them BECAUSE "Sleeping With The Enemy" was a much more straight forward domestic abuse film/story.
From start to finish it's a film about a woman being abused in every possible way and eventually faking her own death to escape her abusive marriage.
There's no good, HONEST way to promote "It Ends With Us" as a film about domestic violence because the source material WANTS it to be way more than that. It truly is a a story about a fun, young blond who happens to be abused. It's so shallow and the only way to express how shallow it is, is to promote it shallowly.
I can give props to Baldoni for focusing on the domestic elements, but the film he's promoting is really NOT the film he directed, or the material he adapted it from.
Because he's still promoting it properly. I can disagree with his words to describe it, while still thinking him at least promoting it as a domestic abuse book is better than her trying to have a "Barbie Summer" moment with it.

It's looking like he was sidelined.
Meanwhile, another insider tells the outlet that “any changes or input by Blake was to create the best film possible and honor the book,” noting that “Blake was a producer and worked closely with Colleen and other female team members on set. Without [Justin’s] input does not mean [she went] behind his back.”
People will find absolutely ANY angle to defend some bland White lady. People have had stories about her being shitty since Gossip Girl. Then the plantation and "Preserve" shit goes down and it intensifies....
Justin gets PR representation on like...what...LAST TUESDAY? And suddenly every thing said about this snake since 2008 is ~JOhnnY dEPP'S PR mAcHiNE~.
But seriously though. People are literally pulling up Blake's own interviews, her own behavior, her own words. This is literally her bs that's getting examined, and frankly, if she had just been kind and professional and taken the subject matter seriously from the jump, this wouldn't be where it is. Like, even her own fans and actual DV survivor counselors are pissed at her.
And ~JOhnnY dEPP'S PR mAcHiNE~ also worked with the woman who filmed George Floyd's death, can these Blake defenders understand a PR team works with who pays them and they work with many, many, many clients, not just people like Depp?
Fuck Johnny Depp to the pits of hell and beyond, but I laugh because these people are treating his name like the Right does by blaming everything on George Soros. It's their go to now, and it's maddening.
Johnny Depp has been in the public for 40 years, these people are blinded by their own bullshit that they can't comprehend that the odds of some things having overrun with him are very high.
Exactly. Look, fuck Johnny Depp all day. People need to understand that these agencies are businesses. Lawyers are hired. People do jobs. And Hollywood is small and runs on reputations, that's why Marty Singer works for every-fucking-body.
Johnny Depp getting that agency means they are excellent at their jobs and they take all clients. That's all it means.
