Rachel/Joey was by far the worst attempted pairing.

ETA: Ross was a terrible boyfriend but at least the genesis of that couple had a backstory and a buildup so we could see how it happened. Rachel and Joey just came out of left field and the execution was terrible.

Ross was a terrible character in general, they're lucky that David is such a great (and underrated) comedic actor, otherwise his character would have been unwatchable

I think it's often both (even if they aren't conservative per se, they're still judgmental about a woman's sexuality) BUT I would guess that they are more concerned with making money than their morals. If having Monica be a ~slut would definitely increase ratings and make the show more profitable, they probably would have done it in a heartbeat, morals be damned.

The only reason I don’t sleep on a first date is if I’m not interested in the guy, so we likely won’t be fucking at all since we won’t be having a second date lol It’s insane to me that a lot of people genuinely think sleeping on the first date somehow speaks to a person’s character.
