i was really disappointed by longlegs after being SO excited for it, but maybe this will be different, esp because it's an adaptation of an existing story. i think perkins is talented at mood, atmosphere, suspense, etc. (like, all of that in the first hour of longlegs was really effective to me), but flounders at narrative and storytelling (that's where longlegs fell apart imo, in the ending), so maybe this will be better.
