I read one of these, and it was so large and so dense. They're probably going to cut out 60% at least.

Well, eight hour-long episodes to cover 6 years. It could be worse time scale-wise. This one just covers the first of four novels even though damn, the first one is 839 pages...

Not the first time, but generally they shoehorn an American in to have at least one character speaking English for the sake of the audience

This looks so good! I had trouble paying attention to all the Italian scenes in Boardwalk Empire so if I have the opportunity to watch this I hope I'll be able to focus 😬
