They most likely think they know better than their PR person. In this case, I believe these assholes have such massive egos that they 100% know they aren't wrong and therefore, compromise and decided this is the most they'll say.

you would think kelly would be more empathetic considering how much people made fun of her years ago

That requires some self awareness which I don't think she has. I remember when she used to pick on Christina Aguilera too.

That's not an apology. That's just them saying here's a word called "sorry"" because we heard some people use it, but feel absolute no shame about what we said and we think that you need to stop doing that thing insulted you over.

But hey, we love you! We think you're cool or whatever but stop dancing, okay?

QUALIFIERS end anything that could have been an APOLOGY and turn it into bullshit. And ofc the person doing it throws in some stuff to cause you pain while they pretend to be "above it all" and is on purpose. If someone does this during a fight, they're forever "the HR friend" but now former friend.

Anytime someone says “I’m sorry if it offended you” it really pisses me off.

I liked your thesis <3

If I’m really mad and get the “if” apology, I’ll go “If??!? IF you offended me?! I’m obviously offended. We’ve been talking about it for the past 30 minutes! What do you mean IF?!”
