The Presley family staying a mess forever. I really hope that Riley and her sisters can stay away from the bad juju that follows them everywhere.

Kruse argues that while she acknowledges the family’s meticulous record-keeping, she finds it hard to believe that every item Elvis owned was documented

But it’s kind of weird you’re selling things that aren’t documented considering the extensive documentation. Weird that it just happens to be items that have no documentation and are suspiciously similar to things actually documented and in Graceland’s possession.

She added that if Priscilla’s “personal recollections aren’t worth anything, then whose are?”

You just said no one was there! How can she have recollections of when they were separated?

“He loved planes and this was one of them,” she said.

Not technically a claim that he loved this particular plane.

“He loved planes and this is certainly a plane!”

It's obviously a different situation because these are going to private collectors, from the sounds of it, but I've worked in museums and modern, reputable ones are really strict about provenance and being able to trace ownership because having a fake or stolen item in your collection can mean legal fees and bad PR. One example I can think of is some guy kept calling to say that he had a dish set from a famous historical disaster but whenever we asked him to tell us how he ended up with these rare items he refused to tell us, so we wouldn't accept them.

You'd think that private collectors would also want to vet things for authenticity before forking over their money but what do I know.

I don't have a good opinion of Priscilla after she made sure her son received money from Elvis' estate when her son is from a different relationship. ☹️

So like, how are you authenticating it then? Vibes??

I can't imagine building my whole life and identity around a man who died so long ago. It's just... Sad to me that the whole family is so wrapped up in this legacy shit. What a burden.
