Weird question, but if one of those companies is publishing/funding a game by a smaller studio, would the strike apply to that studio, too?

Pretty sure it would be. The info in the post is incorrect - the companies listed were the ones representing the games industry as part of the bargaining process. The strike affects all productions that work with actors repped by SAG-AFTRA unless they reached an interim agreement with the union (which is how it worked for 2023 strike).

If you’re concerned about a particular game, you can find out if it’s struck here: https://www.sagaftra.org/videogamestrike#production_search_result

I searched for the one I was thinking about and yep, it's struck because it's under Epic I guess.

I took it directly from the source so I could have misunderstood something!

Bethesda recently got a union

and i think this is one of the few things that can save video games

i do not know why demons like bobby kotieck think they can just do crunch time on their employees when not every person wants to work in video games so they are a limited amount of people to chase away

ubisoft should have dissolved after it's huge scandal

like fuck them

and you definetly should NOT draw devil horns on bobby koiteck pictures apparently he hates that

gamers as a general community are bootlickers to the industry and can ignore any and everything as long as they get to play their games, so i think they'll see backlash, but i hope the strike works

yeeep, they're in the comments of the deadline article. not to mention the amount of alt right gamers who already have contempt for voice actors.

Stoked to see Actvision and E.A. here; both have a loud backing for better employee treatment, elimination of workplace crunch, etc. On the heels of Bethesda unionizing, I'm wishing all the studios well

Edit: with Dragon Age: The Veilguard coming out soon, I'm wondering if that will push EA to negotiate
